On Monday, for pday,
we went on a steam train ride and the train was from the 50's! it was
really awesome even though we went super slow. It was about a half hour
until we got to Sheffield Park where we had lunch and then we walked to
some gardens which were absolutely gorgeous!! There was a castle there
as well that have been turned into apartment type things. can you
imagine living in that?! There were so many different types of trees in
the gardens and everything was just flawless. That was probably the best
part of the week. It was quite hot which i loved but the humidity is
rubbish. i loved it though!. (:
On Wednesday we had transfers and since we are one of the only
companions with a car guess who got to drive other missionaries
everywhere? We did. Wednesday morning we picked up some elders from the
airport coming from their area which was an island to get new companions
and took them to the chapel where there were 30 more new missionaries
from the mtc. It was chaotic. We ate lunch there and then
had to help out with pictures being taken with new companionship's along
with the President and also with straightening out all the new
missionaries visas. We drove some sisters to the temple so the new
sister could repack her bags because they were headed to an island the
next day on an airplane and you can only take one. bummer right? while
they were rearranging stuff we had to drive other elders to their area
and then come back to the temple to get the sisters. We went out to
dinner then headed home where they would stay since their plane didn't
leave until the next morning. We had to be out the door at 7 on Thursday
to take the sisters so we just stayed in our pajamas. We were
exhausted. So glad that's over. Next transfer my companion is going home
and i think i'm training which means i might be the one driving all the missionaries around. awesome...
On Sunday we were street contacting on the way to church and we were really just giving out flyers because out ward is having an open house for the chapel on saturday and people still wouldn't even take a flyer!
We passed by one guy though and he instantly said "Well you girls look
like you're shining with something, what is it?!" Ah. so awesome. i love
it when things like that happen. he even told us to keep up the good
work after explaining to him what it was. just after that we stopped two
guys getting into their cars and they didn't want to take the flyer and i asked them if they had heard of mormons
and they said yes then just kinda blew us off then left. we kept
walking and next thing i know they are passing us laying on their horn
then swerve like they were going to hit us... rude! seriously. i just
laughed and waved at them. Probably not as scary as some of the stories casey has but that's about as crazy as it gets here in England. haha. well.. so far!
Oh yeah, remember that investigator that i was talking
about last week that called us for an appointment on Tuesday? she didn't
show up... cool right? haha. but we are working hard
online and have a baptism in Manchester, England and are also teaching a
Hindu lady. One of our former investigators called us on saturday
night as well and should be meeting us sometime next week. I'm so
grateful for the good things that happen everyday! i know it can't
always be good or easy so i just try and make the best of it. I love you
all and am so grateful for the prayers coming my way and the emails
that i got this week! i love you all!
