Holla Back

Hey everyone!
I must say that it's been quite a step up from last week. We actually had some contrast going between the good and bad.

We practiced our driving with Grant and We went to the 4,000 year old tree that Sister Watt and I went to way back when. We also went to the hotel that Sister Maddocks and I (thought we) found. It's gorgeous! Grant had his wedding there which was really awesome to see. (:

One of the guys that we found last week that was a bit tipsy agreed to meet with us this week and we accidentally scheduled it during our weekly district meeting! He wouldn't give us his number either so it was either miss district meeting and meet a guy that probably wouldn't show up or take the risk and go to district meeting. We prayed that there would be a way for us to see him and guess what?! They cancelled our district meeting on Wednesday so that we could have zone training on Friday. It worked out PERFECT!

The only bad part was that he didn't even show. *shocking* but it was okay because Heavenly Father needed us there because we met an awesome girl named Michelle who's future mother in law is Mormon. It makes a HUGE difference when people know a member because they actually know that we're normal! imagine that!

We've been teaching this guy called Bernard... The one we've been teaching in the car. haha. He is from the Philippines and is Roman Catholic. He came to the Visitor's Centre this time thank goodness and we showed him the restoration video in Tagalog. There is a bit of a language barrier between us so we are always really bold with him. He said he believed everything and then at the very end of the lesson he said that he isn't changing his religion... AH. So frustrating. it's not about religion! it's about following Jesus Christ. The other frustrating thing is that he doesn't even know what his religion believes, like the trinity.

REX HAS A BAPTISMAL DATE!! I've been teaching Rex on and off since i got on my mission. He's the cutest old man ever. He reminds me of the once-ler off of The Lorax. We've only been able to see him when we go to the Braithwaites, his neighbor, for dinner. We finally were able to get him to the Visitor's Centre to teach him the plan of salvation then he even took us out to lunch! He LOVES us. haha. On sunday he came to us and said that he was excited about baptism and we set a date with him. He wanted it in September but we promised him that he would be prepared for march and if not we could move it.

2 non members came in last night right as we were closing but sister walmsley and i stayed and gave them a tour. they seemed really interested. one lives in the london mission but the other lives in our mission! we're going to teach both of them via skype then hopefully have the missionaries in their area teach them! so exciting! Many miracles have happened this week!
